Free Expression 1994 -1998

From the outset I wanted to create something that was unique.

Free expression was a term that was used extensively throughout my art education, I wanted to challenge and force the boundaries of this concept to its limits.

The paintings that derived from this period are some of the most unnerving and truly absorbing that I have produced. Many did not survive due to the unstableness of many of the techniques I employed. Many were destroyed as an act of creation . The paintings that did survive are testament and precedent for the ongoing process of free expression that I continue to evolve.

I wanted the viewer to feel challenged and repelled but most of all I wanted a continual dialogue that would question all my views regarding the western view of art.
