The search for true pigments has led me to many strange and wonderful places and led me to meet many valuable people. The pigment is one of the foundations of painting and limits or enables the artist to create in a more emotional response.
Having used traditional pigments and exhausted many of their capabilities I wanted to find my own pallette of rare and unique sources. Many of the pigments used have an industrial background, but many have a more natural occurence.
Much of this progress has been due to visits to industrial innovators and being able to use their databases and resources. I am still enlarging my pigment library and have yet to find a natural green pigment that will resonate the way I can visualise it in my mind.
