Whilst Maintainng the physical attributes of a painting I wanted to disect the individual parts in to a map of the physical properties. Begining with a wooden stretcher the intrinsic structure was questioned and repeated. The paintings that evolved were all part of the same production line and each became sibling to another.
From the initial findings a further series of paintings began relating to the structure of the surface and each following painting resulted in a change of physical balance.
As the series developed, the challenge became one of trying to liberate each of the paintings into a work of its own.
